Simon Sterner unveils the new Control Tower at the Collie Motorplex.

The Collie Motorplex has a new control tower built with $35,000 from last year’s Royalties for Regions funding.

It will give us a very safe management and control of all on track events and timing and public address facilities, Motoring South West manager Simon Sterner said.

When we get some more money, we plan to build a first floor and base floor.

Construction of the tower started in about May and refurbishment of the existing transportable started in February, Mr Sterner said

This is a fantastic improvement for race officials and a great improvement for race control and track safety in general. Simon would like to thank the many people that contributed towards making this project a reality, it was truely a great effort by a lot of dedicated people.
